(August 09, 2011 - w3lanka ) A large number of youth were seen gathered yesterday near Bambalapitiya Police Field headquarters to get an application for a job in Korea. An application form is not a job. It is just a hope for a decent living for the umpteenth sans a handful of superstars. Last week, a young graduate known to this writer left for a unskilled or semi-skilled job in Korea. Perhaps he will be lucky to return with a saving that he can use as a capital back in the home country to start a self-employment or a part-time business as he joins the public service with his queue-frustrated colleagues. Local media reported that there was chaos among the prospective applicants and the Police had to intervene in controlling the crowd. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau announced that the Korean language test admissions will be issued to all applicants until August 11 from 29 centers island-wide and applicants do not need to ...
